Yeah, Friday was mean-spirited. Today is at least informative. MarsCon was still fresh in my mind (it still is), and while I spent the majority of my time with friends occasionally shooting each other in the head, there were uncomfortable times.

I was going to mention one specifically, but my publisher just now told me not to. (Please note that I'm not doing so out of any respect for him being my publisher, but because I don't want him calling me 'Sunshine' after I've spent an entire rant bitching.)

Don't worry, I'm done with this theme now. There are other keen things to make fun of while I prepare for the next storyline.

So ADV dropped a ton of titles, and one of them was Gurren-Lagann. Those twits. The one thing I cared about coming from them. Does that mean I'm allowed to start downloading it again?

Annnnd God only knows what Katsucon is gonna have by way of 'State of the Industry' panels. I haven't even looked at the schedule yet, but I'm actually tempted to stick my head into one just to see how things have gotten. Not that I don't know -- I mean more the mood of things and how congoers react.

That's one thing I don't know ... the ratio of 'Yeah, fansubbing sucks and subbers should get sued and die!' to 'Fsck off, it's the industry's own damn fault!' to 'I'll give the appearance of hating fansubs so maybe no one will notice that I'm burning off fifty DVD-Rs of Denno Coil in my hotel room ...' So I may go in solely for that reason. There's been enough online backlash for me to know how all sides feel about it, God knows.

Finally tonight, I summoned up the bottle to have a look at a certain sample scene from a certain cancelled dub last night since someone bootlegged it (God, that's hilarious). I got about a minute and a half into the six-minute clip before I had to get off it and watch some Torchwood so I could hear some better acting.
