'I mean, one's the son of God and the other's blown up buildings.' by Kara
Apparently it's not been licensed in the US. There's been no announcement to that effect. And I'm guessing neither AnimeSuki nor the subbing group(s) have received a C&D themselves. However, lots of individuals downloading it have.
Some have even had their intertubes tied over it.
Me, I was planning to give it a watch. Fortunately, I had a few episodes shot to me burned onto a CD, so I can give it a watch without possibly endangering myself. Or at least a bit of it. But I've heard of two cases so far of people getting pinged rather violently for downloading it. So they've been told ... but the groups offering it haven't.
There must be other people out there who've had this problem, just given the odds. But I've looked everywhere I can, and I haven't seen anyone report it. The 'net as a whole seems blissfully unaware of it.
That feels a bit scary. And apparently the C&Ds are coming through the providers and not through an outside company. So one would think it would be over a variety of shows (as Comcast/Cox have been doing for a while yet). I suppose it could be and they're lying, but then what are the odds that multiple cases would be complaints over the same show?
I'd really like to know if this is, indeed, coming from Aniplex ... or if someone else really does have the rights (I understand, though, that the original wasn't widely popular) and just doesn't feel like informing anyone but confused individuals ... or if the odds really are such that customers are being lied to and Comcast is fishing around for some legit-sounding reason to put the kibosh on torrenting. It's beyond me. I found this re: Comcast's craziness, which may or may not nullify this whole rant, but we'll just have to see.
So far, I'm all right. But, sadly, that's because others have taken that particular bullet for me.
If you have been ... WHUT.

I'm thinking maybe ... just maybe ... someone should inform AnimeSuki that Tetsuwan Birdy Decode is fraught with peril.
