'I can do devastating finishing moves in a mecha, but I can't FSCKING JUMP ROPE!??!?' by Kara
Though I talk of things 'ending' ... this could take a good loooooong while. So I probably coulda gotten away without saying anything.
Oops.
So I'm back on the Top o Nerae! Gunbuster game. Yeah, game. The Co-Writer with the Longest Hair got me to buy it at Otakon. For those who don't know, it's basically a game based on the series ... if the series were expanded into a full-length series. Now, the whole thing is in Japanese, but I know roughly enough to know what's going on and (mostly) what to do. And enough about the show to follow the plot when my weak grasp of the language fails me.
However, I can't always understand the instructions for the various things you have to do throughout the course of the game. I finished the second 'episode' last night, and I've only just now learned how to talk to people about anything but myself and Kimiko.
The lame thing? A lot of the training games are timing-based. That is, you have a sliding bar, and you have to hit a target on it. For, say, an Inazuma Kick -- where you do it once -- ping! But if you wanna jump rope? You have to do it over and over. So fight with Kashiwara ain't no thang. She's appropriately humbled, but I imagine Coach ain't too happy with me right now.
I can't wait to see how many other ways I fail over the next few 'episodes.' But hell, who cares. This thing rocks.
I mean, heavens, check out the new ED and next episode preview. Yes, next episode preview.
Maybe I'll have time for another episode tonight before bed.
If you have been, try again!

Well, yeah, that's how things are. This doesn't mean any drastic changes. I just thought you should be warned that the storylines are actually gonna be vaguely productive from now on. So if you're a fan of the fluffy filler (by which I mean other than the 'tween-stories stuff), there's nothing more to see here. From here on out, we're solving all those problems I've been causing for my characters.
