'I know when I think of 60s counter culture, the first names that always come to mind are Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and Carol Channing.' by Kara

Shore Leave was fun. Friday night show went pretty damn well. Friends won stuff at the Saturday night masquerade, in which I could not compete because I did not have the proper bra. Got some cool autographs from some cool people, but unfortunately spent a great deal of Saturday bed-ridden. I am hoping I didn't miss too terribly much, but something tells me I did. I'll be hearing some awesome stories about some awesome stuff that happened while I was stuck in the room ... just know it. Something involving Jewel Staite and free candy.

I just have one big problem now.

The Co-Writer with the Longest Hair has lent me Super Robot Wars MX.

See, the thing with me is, I'll play just about any kind of video game, given the time. I'm not good at a lot of them because of hand-eye coordination and I've got the built-in handicap of not being able to focus on motion and flashiness for long at all. (It is a little more tolerable on the DS, but only a little.) Thus if it comes to fighting games or any such, I do rather poorly. Fortunately, people don't (often) take advantage of this.

However, the Super Robot Wars series is my kind of thing.

It's tactical.

If you are unfamiliar with this series of games and/or don't know what a tactical role-playing game is, you are not worthy to be one of my readers know that your gameplay basically consists of a large grid and a variety of robots. Rather than punching buttons to fire lasers and punch things, it's turn-based. You position your troops, you pick your attacks, and oh ... you have to think about your stats and things.

Even better is that you get to play with mecha from series like Mazinger, Grendizer, RahXephon, GEAR Fighter Dendoh various Gundam series, and (if you must) Evangelion. Well, it varies in each game, but even so, I've not heard of any version that doesn't have several I'm fond of.

Basically, it's a Kara Kind of Game.

So since I really wasn't doing well enough to do anything properly productive last night, I played about five stages. Now, I played Impact about halfway through before my friend moved to Japan and took it with him. I have been told that Impact is crap when compared to MX, and so far this appears to be true. Now the trick will be being careful of how I spend my time.

Crap.

If you have been, BOOM.
