I'd gotten the pig food and was about to go pay for it, when I realised I'd left my (rather nifty Lucky*Star) wallet in the car. So I went to nab it ...
... and was nearly hit by a car trying to pull through into the space where I was standing.
Okay, if you really really had a hard-on for that space, you coulda waited half a second for the little girl to step away, right? Though I don't think it was so much that he wanted the space that desperately. No. He was on his fucking cell phone.
While he was in the car ... as he got out ... and fortunately for him, the most I had the energy to do was throw him a very dirty look. I got a sort of 'What?' look back, followed by the realisation that I must be that thing he almost hit, and then the beginnings of that look I'm very used to ... the look that says I'm the one at fault because I'm a kid and he's a white-collar businessman with a pretty car and an iPhone.
I went back in to grab the bags of food again, picked up a few other things I thought I'd need, stopped to stare at the pigs for sale (just because baby guinea pigs are hilarious to watch), and got in line. And there's my buddy one line over, with sixteen bags of cat food and the phone still attached to his ear. And worst of all ... he stayed on it while he was being rung up.
Now, when I was a teller and some cock would do this, I wouldn't do anything 'til he got off. This got the person rather pissed off at me, but if they couldn't be bothered, neither could I. No, the lady went ahead and rung him through, and he was never once off that thing, even when he went out the door.
And I'm sure he was still on it for the whole drive home. If he survived the drive home. Which he probably did. Just to piss me off.
If you have been, that's gross.

So last night after work, I had boring shopping to do. You know ... light bulbs, toilet paper, pet food, etc. The PetSmart near home never stocks anything in the small animal section anymore, so I've started going to the one next to the mall near work. It's in the same strip mall as a Circuit City, which means you're going to get a lot of businessy-gadgety types coming in at the same time, too.
