The talking's already started in the Shoutbox. To be specific, I can't stand the fact that people believe that I simply don't know things that happened when I was really young or before I was born. Which is really disappointing. I grew up watching stuff with my weird uncle and g'rents, and nowadays I actually go out of my way to find older anime because there's only so many glossy half-assedly-animated plotless reverse-harem shows I can stand.

Granted, there are people out there who think anything before their lifetime (or even five or more years old) simply isn't worth a look. Make fun of them. Trust me, they'll let you know pretty early on what sort of viewer they are.

I was watching stuff five times as old as I was, and everything in between, when I was five. That habit sort of carries along with you. So next time someone five years older than I am tells me there's no way I could have seen Wings of Honneamise, I might well pop them one.

Mecha vs. magical girls?

First: Magical girls -- 15%
Second: They all lose to pirates -- 12%
Third: Mecha / Who cares, as long as things get destroyed? -- 10%

Depends on the mecha / Depends on the magical girl -- 2%

* 'So long as I get my daily dose of massive explosions and buckets of blood, I don't care.': +20 for agreement

* 'The magical girls will win the fight, only to be killed when the mecha explode as a result of destruction': +10, variant on the Rottweiler choking on the Chihuahua ... or something.

* 'Go Sailor Gundam!': +10 and escapes the penalty for visual reference.

* 'Magical Trucker Girls, obviously.': Usually I'd do a suck-up penalty, but I'm feeling like a nice person today (!!!), so +5 because I'm liking their redesign.

* 'If Linn Minmei's a magical girl... then magical girls. My Boy Friend is a Pilot would stop ANYTHING!': +30, protoculture.

Correct Answer: 'No matter who wins, it'd make a great Anime Human Chess Match at MetroCon.'

As you can see, I'm convinced to quash the Uncreativity Penalty next week. I will probably fail. If you have been, no way in hell.
