Despite what you may think, candy glass isn't yummy. It also still has the capacity to be sharp. Don't eat it.

Pirates 3 last night. I, for one, enjoyed it. I've been reading lukewarm reviews, and I suppose I can understand where they're coming from, but the problems reviewers had with it tend to rely a lot on personal taste (one I've heard is that there's 'too much focus' on 'characters no one cares about' ... I beg to differ, but I'm not a reviewer -- just a lowly manga-ka with a blog).

If and when you go, a few do's and don'ts:

Bring a friend. I hate going to see movies alone, but will if it's something I really want to see and can't find anyone. Nonetheless, this one requires the presence of others. That's just how it is.

Make sure the friend is clever. That way at least one person within your earshot won't be making the same stupid comments as the rest of the theatre during the post-credits scene.

Bring Kleenex. Just do.

Don't bring food. Again, just saying.

Get any tentacle jokes out of your system before the last ... erm ... we'll say 45 minutes or so.

Ditto 'crabs' jokes.

Smoke up beforehand. The scriptwriters clearly did, so it's only fair.

Off we go.
