Sadly, this has happened to me.

Guinea pig report: Scout is doing much better. A lot of the bloating's been taken care of, and last night I nearly burst out crying when I saw her attacking her food and water the way she used to. And her being back means Noriko has stopped pining. I'm taking Scout to the vet once more tomorrow to be safe.
