'You have a date with destiny, and destiny has curly hair!' by Kara
For a while, I used to pretend I watched Code Geass. It was very easy to do. All you had to do was freak out and go 'OH MY GOD!' about a day after an episode aired. I can't remember where I stopped watching, but it just didn't do anything for me. And with the amount of stuff I watch ... well, I don't need stuff that doesn't do anything for me.
I will admit that, for a while, I felt a little guilty that I had no interest in the show. People whose opinions I trust on that genre liked it, so I can't explain why it didn't click with me. Possibly that whole god-complex bishonen thing being overdone. I don't know. Funny thing is, I've asked fans of it if I should try getting into it again, and the response is a resounding 'Meh.'
Well, that's not encouraging.
The fall anime season looks like a total load of bollocks. Well, okay, not total. There is, after all, Tytania to look forward to. If you don't know, it's based on novels by Yoshiki Tanaka (Legend of the Galactic Heroes), directed by Noboru Ishiguro (the aforementioned and Macross), with character designs by Haruhiko Mikimoto (anything that truly matters). For those not familiar with the names behind anime, I'm trying to think of what an American equivalent dream team would be, but I really can't.
Speaking of stuff leaving me gobsmacked, check out the chronophage:
If you have been, they'd better!
