'Why why why why don't I miss you a lot forever?' by Kara
Were there a webcam in my office, you would see that I just deleted a massive rant detailing the downward spiral of modern entertainment via the Internet and increased ease of production coupled with decreased attention span. I decided not to go there because you lot really, really don't care. You may think you do, but trust me, you don't. Technically I can wank philosophical in my own rants, but honestly? A post-midnight rant fueled by pumpkin Ceylon and Christmas Oreos is not the way to do it.
That said, I'm convinced that anyone can tell what I've been reading, playing, or watching based on my art and writing styles at any given point. I have, in fact, just finished watching Betterman and playing Super Robot Taisen MX, which means things will be vaguely more explosive and violent for a while. As though they haven't been. Theoretically I'm gonna wrap up Sayonara Zetsubou-sensei soon and shuffle my way through all the stuff I've bought and been handed (nothing more to watch that I have to finish and return). Between that and playing ICO, I'm wondering if my style will mellow in a few weeks and lose a bit of its unintentional GAR. If so, I hope it waits 'til after the fight scenes.
Re: reading, I just finished a massive bio of P.G. Wodehouse by Robert McCrum, and I imagine that's not influencing my art much. Except perhaps for making me feel a bit inferior because a 93-year-old man with a dying wife had a better work ethic than I do. Course, he's also Wodehouse and thus a minor god, so I shouldn't feel too bad.
If you have been, wry?

First comic of 2009 ... into the, am I losing count?, fourth year of Blacklight now. Scary to think that this has lasted eight times as long as most of the things that get out there anymore.
