Saw what has to be the fastest pizza delivery vehicle I have ever seen yesterday.
A Subaru WRX STI. With a Papa Johns sogn on top parked out front of the shop.
I can see their slogan now...."Get it in 5 minutes or its free!"
Only tin that would be cooler would be a Hachi-Roku pizza delivery car....
And on the subject of cars....watched the show 'Pinks' last night because someone alerted me to the vehicles participating. For those not in the know, Pinks is a show where two rivals race each other for high stakes. The title to their opponents car. Yes it's reality TV to a degree....yes it's drag racing, but once in a while it's also very intense. And there are strict penalties for failture. This was one of them.
You see the showdown this time was with a Honda Civic *a front wheel dirve compact sport car* with a turbo and nitrous oxide shot. He was also using full racing slicks and was completly gutted to save as much wieght as possible .It was also painted horribly pink. This however was not why I was watching. His opponent?
A 1987 RX7 FC3S. That's a rear wheel drive, rotary powered turbo car.On street tires. No nitro. Just and aftermarket turbo, boost controller, aftermarket exhaust and few other tidbits.
It was white with some graphics since these were flat out race cars. Hondas and rotarys are notorious for being huge rivals. Honda guys hate RX's, RX owners hate Hondas.(as a rule...not saying I do...I used to own one!)It also happens to be the exact same car that I drive.
The results are determined in a best of 5 race series so no one can be accused of cheating/not getting a fair shake. After each race the racers negotiate for tuning options, car lengths of lead off the start...and other such things to make it as fair as possible.
The final race...the Honda was given four lengths lead with no nitrous against the four lengths back FC with no nitro either. The result?
The Honda never stood a chance.
Resistance of the Rotary Is FUTILE!!!

Currently shaping things up for my role as karaoke host at AMA. (If I'm a host, should I make an Ouran uniform? Erm ...) That involves figuring out prizes, how stuff's gonna be run, whom I'm gonna get to help me behind the scenes and/or onstage ... whether or not I'm gonna ban 'Fly Me to the Moon' ... And probably writing up something for the program book now.
I've had to change up my driving route to work and back. Not because of last week. This is a chick in a pink convertible Bug, and (as far as I know) has nothing to do with anything. She nearly killed my arse in traffic a couple days ago, because she doesn't seem to have learned how to change lanes safely yet, so I had to do some special maneuvering to keep myself from getting destroyed (or at the very least putting yet another dent in Goldy).
Yesterday I was leaving to go grab a sandwich and go home, and there she is, parked outside my office right across from Goldy, waiting for someone to get into him. (How do I know it was the same person?... How many disgustingly pink convertible Bugs have you seen this year?) And glaring at me as I walked out. So I started walking toward another car on the other side of the lot. She ended up revving her motor and squealing off ... so either she was pissy at having her afternoon wasted, or she knows I'm on to her. God only knows how long she'd been sitting there, and what soap operas she was missing.
I'm not worried about this ... I just don't have time for it. And I figure if I leave her alone, karma will come around and she'll get into the accident she nearly got me into.
I want to do a scientific evaluation on how many of Co-Writer's and my rants involve vehicles.
If you have been, quit stepping all over me.

I'm begining to wonder if she's not right about the ratio of Motor vehicle related posts....

Today, I should be receiving a big box of books. If UPS is running according to schedule, which the site says it is.
