"Drucker and Faulk? DRUCKER And FAULK!!" by Rob

I beat Shadow of the Colossus this tuesday and Heavy Metal Thunder the next day...Both amazing at the end...for different reasons.I'm not sure what I'm gonna play now....Ohh wait! I have, like,20 other games I'm in the middle of...

So it's been an interesting week, now that I'm done(checks one more time for leaks)Nope! no leaks!...with the sink, I can finaly tell you about the weekend. My girlfriend did the nice thing of suprising me with a mini vacation to the mountains. We went to Lauray in the mountains near here on the Blueridge parkway. The ride out was interesting...as I'd never been on these mountain roads before...If I'd have known they were so close to home, I'd have been there sooner. My GOD were these roads a dream! it was straight out of Initial D, I swear! Oh we had such fun in the FC. I wanna take Galeon out there very soon.

We stayed in a quaint little Best Western in a small town that made me say "I bet this is the kind of place when you're a kid that you can't wait to get out of". And according to someone who used to live there I was right. We went to Wall Mart to get supplies for hiking and snacks...and man was it ever a Redneck convention going on in there. Amongst all of them there must have been a whole set of teeth there ...honest! And we being the rather white folks that we are....felt out of place.

The next day we spent in Lauray caverns, a touristy cave setup with some amazing visuals. I prefer my caves without tiled floors and handrails, but it was still cool. There was even a natural Pipe organ there...no shit, it played the stalagtites with rubber mallets...and it was beautiful. we left there and the weather cleared so we did the Hedge maze they had and visited the Auto museum on premises...but the real fun was about to begin. A quick trip up to Blue Ridge and we were off exploring the roads. After stopping for meals in boxes, we found a trail to our liking and hiked there to a waterfall about 1.5 miles out in the woods. We ate and packed up about 30 seconds before the group we passed with the screaming children made it there. Good timing.

Monday was much drearier, and the roads were a bit scary *even for me* in the rain...but I still had fun driving them. It did however stress me a bit in terms of concentration, so I wouldn't have been able to do much more anyway. We stopped for root beer and cider in a small roadside stand on the way back and it was good. A great weekend overall.

I will be going back to those amazing hills very soon with my friend Greg so we can really push the limits. I can't wait to get the suspension done now.

So...what did you do this weekend?

Resistance of the amazing Drive is FUTILE!!!

Congratulations to both of us for getting this done. And Saturday's, to cover RavenCon. We're good to ya.

I took a long lunch yesterday to see the fam while my grandmother was in surgery. Fortunately, it wasn't really a tense setup. I think after ... one, two, three, maybe four family members have had some kind of surgery in the last two years, people don't get so scared anymore. With the possibility of the operatee. I know if it were me, I'd be more of a total spaz than usual about it, even considering I'm a 'veteran' (my grandfather's words).

She's doing fine, by the by. Whether that's from the combined good wishes of my readers or the fact that her surgeon apparently knew what he was doing, thanks muchly.

Dana, one of our group members, was horrendously sick at MarsCon. Looks like it's my turn. Probably aggravated by all the previous worry and trying-to-get-things-done-ness. Show must go on, though. I go in tonight, and the Co-Writer with the Bluest Liver is probably going to drop in to chill with me. (I said she'd have to come up to Richmond if she wanted to hang out tonight ... so she is.) No idea how long she'll stay, but it's been awhile since we've both been at the same con, so it'd be cool. Even though she refuses to sit panels with me unless accompanied by a potted plant.

If you have been, I'd really rather not.
