'You're gonna wear the carrot and you'll LIKE IT!" by Rob

Well, been a while so let me bring you up to speed.

I have been sick for some time now. Badly sick. It's finaly getting better but I still have this impossible drainage that's driving me mad. If I use nasal spray it clears out my nose, but then it all goes down my throat and nearly chokes off my breathing at some points it's so thick *like right now*. And if I just let my body clear up naturaly, I end up so stuffed up I can't breathe through my nose. And am constantly blowing it to try and clear it.

Either way I'm fooked.

Hopefully it's just the remnants...cause this shit's driving me crazy. At least the sore throat is gone, but I fear going to class with these issues and not being able to breathe at some point or trying not to hack up a lung during running. So I've been real lax on my classes. *SIGH* So much for getting a running start on my red belt.

This weekend is Anime USA. I'll be there as usual since I was asked to come, but I'm not sure how much else I'll be doing. Just not feeling up to a con right now. So I think I'll be pretty laid back this weekend.

Hmmm...looks like I have to start making some other costume props for people now...as well as one or two for myself at Neko. Well, there goes what little free time I had.

Today's rant title is 100% true. WTF IS WITH YOU PEOPLE.

This past weekend, I got to show Castle of Cagliostro to some people who'd never seen it ... actually, to some people who'd never seen any Lupin III. Also, I'd watched Green vs. Red earlier in the day and I needed to scrub it out of my brain.

Honestly, that movie is the one that got me caring about anime. It's probably still my favourite anything, and it's also how I met Co-Writer here. Lupin cosplayer the day after seeing it? I felt so very clever that I recognised someone. The rest, as they say, is history. He also dropped his pants at me.

Really, it was great to see their reactions. Some of my favourites:

1. Seeing pre-Ghibli Miyazaki. They both really like his stuff.

2. Realising that Cowboy Bebop has its roots in this. And seeing other stuff referenced elsewhere and where it came from.

3. 'Someone did all those backgrounds by hand?!?!!?' That was positively my favourite -- watching them understand and appreciate the way things used to be. And then getting to describe scenes from Macross: Do You Remember Love to them in the same vein.

I think that was a fairly productive evening.

If you have been, ninjin doesn't love you, neh.
