So now that I'm actually catching up with and/or finishing a lot of series (I intend to do more of this today as there are several shows that I'm Just This Close To Finishing), I'm looking at more. One Co-Writer mentioned to me is Wangan Midnight, another racing show from OB Planning, the same people who brought us the arse-kickingly gorgeous Initial D.
To be fair, I have only seen the OP and read up on it, but ... it seems ... eerily familiar to Initial D. As in too familiar. The OP theme performers even sound like they're trying very hard to be m.o.v.e. (though I will admit it is a nifty song).
To me, what little I've seen/heard makes it seem ... 'okay.' But I get this eerie feeling that if Initial D were a Disney movie, Wangan Midnight would be the less impressively animated but suspiciously similar production that well-meaning old ladies buy accidentally for their grandkids at Walgreen's. I shall see, of course, but I'm not setting my expectations terribly high.
After all, there are far more interesting-looking shows to get myself into. Like Hayate the Combat Butler. That shit looks awesome.
If you have been, SWEET!

So presumably Co-Writer is off in Chicago whooping it up at Anime Central. I, however, am whooping it down at home, which I'm hoping to fix now that I've had sleep.
