First thing I noticed about them is I had to jump through about four hoops to even be considered as an intern writer for them. This is after 10+ years in professional journalism. No, that does not make me cranky. I'm glad it actually takes work to get a gig there because that means they don't just throw anybody on the pile and see what happens.
Secondly, they're genuinely nice people and don't jump down your throat if you're not turning around absolute perfection on day 1.
Thirdly, they don't clickbait. They have a massive style guide and one of the big things in the style guide is that you have to actually tell what the article is about in your headline. It's almost like they gots standards or some shit.
It looks like I could actually learn a fair bit here about SEO and promotion, to be honest. That's stuff I can use elsewhere. Heck yes.
So we'll see how it goes. I'm all about more experience wherever I can get it, both for legitimate training and so that when I express an opinion and someone asks why they should care, I can point out experience in the field in question.
Which reminds me ... at some point I should tell you guys about what I'm doing with Otaku no Video.
If you have been, that's that.

So I've started a new writing gig for Inquisitr, which is kind of rad.
