'Spaceships, tea, and Judy Garland. You, sir, are living the dream.' by Kara
So my mom's going in for surgery soon -- deviated septum, gives her headaches and makes it hard to breathe and sleep and trivial little things like that. She spent yesterday doing what I did a year ago (at the same hospital): blood tests, EKGs, all the lovely fun stuff that takes forever but needs doing so your surgery goes okay.
(All the stuff which, save for the blood tests, my previous surgeon NEVER EVER DID.)
It's outpatient surgery and she's not going to be out of work for long, and hopefully she'll be feeling a lot better soon after. Only problem is I can't hang out with her right now because I have some sort of sniffly cold-ish thing, and if she gets sick they can't do the surgery. Kind of a bugger for me right now. But honestly I just want her to be able to get this done so she can sleep properly at some point.
It should be a straightforward surgery, and she's more impatient for it than nervous about it, but I'd appreciate it if all our readers kept her in their thoughts. I'm sure it'll go fine regardless.
If you have been, it's loud.
