'Zagreus ... does something else and then eats bread.' by Kara
Had a friend over last night, and we usually watch one or more of a few things she's working on ... but last night she really wanted to listen to Zagreus (a four-hour Doctor Who audio from Big Finish's monthly DW series, made for the show's 40th anniversary in 2003). I really think Co-Writer would love this one simply because of the massive amounts of insane tweaked evilness after one of the Doctors absorbs pretty much an entire universe's worth of antitime and then goes certifiable and starts ripping out parts of the TARDIS and chopping down invisible trees with books and talking to himself in more ways than one. But she has to see more classic Who first, so bah.
Anyway. After hearing Paul McGann [melt down the outer shell of his own TARDIS and bang a vorpal sword out of the metal while reciting Gallifreyan nursery rhymes] (spoilers in brackets) and wondering how many things died during that recording session, we got into a discussion on the subject of 'badass.'
I got told I'm a badass.
What why?
Well, last weekend the Co-Writer with the Longest Hair took me out on Galeon (one of his bikes) for the first time since Co-Writer here's senior directorial. However long ago that was. He took me on some back roads -- if you read the Kalirants at all, yes, those back roads -- and we were hitting about 100 mph and doing God knows what else. And I liked it. I did not freak out.
Given that, according to Emily, I am a badass.
Ehh. Perhaps I should take a poll or something. I don't feel like a badass. But then, how does one feel when one is a badass? Badass, I'd imagine, but that doesn't help me.
... I'm gonna go do laundry. Really badass laundry.
If you have been, it was gross.
A cold front has moved in, Fall is coming and thank goodness! Of course I've said this now, and on Monday the weather will be back up in the 100s again.
But Fall is coming, and getting ready for Fall is one of the busiest times of the year. What with dealing with normal daily operation and creating and installing new items, it's a little hectic around here.
And of course it never helps when a surpervisor you rarely see never answers any questions you might email to him.
But oh, the changes in schedules! Coming in at 6, or working early in the morning, taking a four hour break and working later at night, always something about the schedule to keep us on our toes!

Ugh. Today would be a perfect day to go out to the park. Or out on a bike. Sadly, both require another person (at the moment, until I can afford and learn to ride a motorbike of my own), so I suppose I'll end up doing the work I have to do here and then going out for a walk in New Town before I go to am movie.

No matter how much I may say I'll remeber a rant title, I always forget it. Always. And I heard some really good ones Friday night.
