Yeah, warmth. So Wednesday we had a company lunch ... I was wearing shorts, and I carpooled with the ad seller in his convertible (with a religious-themed license plate ... not at all uncommon in Virginia). It was warm, it was lovely, it was very encouraging re: my anticipation of finally jumping on a motorbike for the first time in three years.
Yesterday it was snowing.
Fscking snowing.
I understand that I live in Virginia, where the weather is more changeable than Carrie at a salad bar, but still. Wet, grey weather with flecks of snow -- however little snow it is -- is not at all encouraging when you're itching to go to Busch Gardens, hop on a bike, and race back roads in Fredericksburg, all as soon as bloody possible.
It's 34 out right now, with a promised high of 52. I may kill someone.
In somewhat happier news, my experiments in tea-spiking have led me to blackcurrant tea with amaretto. Another winner.
If you have been, DRINKS!!
The puncture wound from the drill but has healed, but then I managed to injure the pointer finger on my left hand (screw hit this one, hurt, but not serious, just ugly...and really annoying), few burns on the left hand from hot glue, most nothing to talk about except the one from a higher temp glue than I thought...it blistered nicely over the week. And yeah, the general aches and pains in knees, ankles, hips, shoulders, etc. but most have been focused on the left side (in fact my left hip just popped as I sat down to type this) So it's an achey week for The Mich.
In costuming news, I've gotten all the main bits, bringing the total to $460 - not counting any fiddly bits I may need for the bodice piece, and perhaps I won't feel so dead from work that I can actually start working on it more. Gotta get it doen by Ravencon since I took that Sat off.
And now to the Apple store as my old 4th Gen is finally starting to have issues. Not battery issues, alas, Apple will apparently replace an iPod with battery issues (for $60 if I remember the coworker correctly). No this seems to be hardware. Use this as an excuse to get a nice new iPod that'll fit into all the cool gadgets you say? I really don't want to. I want a nice restore to the thing and keep the same old one. Yeah, it's the clunkiest of all the iPods ever made, and yeah, it's got more battle wounds than a sentai team combined (and not just on the screen thank you), but it played music, and I finally got a case that worked with it. It's had acetone dripped on it's screen, it's fallen out of a pocket a few times, but it survived nearly 3 years. I'll be sad to see it go.
The Mich mourns.

Am up early (well, early for how late I went to bed) to check some auctions -- since they've been won, I shall be going back to the warmth of my bed for a bit momentarily.

A quote I'm sure a number of folks will recognise, especialy after the movie not too long ago. Alas, it describes how I've felt this past week all too well.
