So a while back, I invested some Christmas gift certificates in a nook (lowercase-in-context, apparently). And since I've done that, I've had a lot of people going on at me about 'actually having a book in your hands' and how e-book readers are detracting from the joy and loveliness that is paper bookage. And I'm a traitor to the cause or something.
Well, here's my problem. On the one hand, yes, I love having the real thing on hand, too. On hand and all over the flat, some of said books being my g'mother's that I need to return tomorrow.
On the other, I'm leaving the country for two weeks next month, and I can do a lot of reading during that idle time in transit. So while I'd most certainly like to have a proper book in my hand, I would get so much read that it would actually behoove me to have a skinny little reader with a few dozen novels on it simply to keep my baggage light.
So yeah. I plan to have whatever of Pratchett and Butcher I haven't read by then waiting for me on the nook to accompany me to Engrand, notwithstanding the fact that I'll probably buy more books while I'm over there -- though I'm planning to ship anything I buy back to myself instead of lugging it through customs because it's probably safer that way.
Yes, I am in fact thinking this specifically a month out. I'm freaking excited, especially about the fact that I could afford a flight this time with an airline that (theoretically) won't strand me in an arbitrary country.
If you have been, cool.

If you can't tell from the rant title, I'm back to playing Super Robot Wars α2. That's just how my robots and I roll. But it's been a long time, so I'm trying to remember my flawless strategy from months ago.
