Blacklight * By Mich Allen and Kara Dennison

I love my occasional reminder that, no matter how hard I wish, things ain't gonna do themselves.

It is, as Mighty Publisher Man said, inertia. And while I need and deserve rest this weekend, I can only sit still so long without getting fidgety and needing to do something. So it's a weird balance between necessary inertia and just wanting to run out and start shingling random roofs.

Not counting comics:

* Editing work. Which means filthy fansubbing. Well, not all of it is for anime. I'm also tinkering with some German/Viennese musicals, which come from a different translator and thus a much 'higher' style of translating. That's a bit rougher for me, since anything else I do, I get to dictate the style. Nonetheless, it's interesting.

* Commissions. Pinups. I draw cute girls, apparently, and I'm doing some swimsuit things. Yeah ... I get that a lot.

* Reviews. Now, will I continue to do these? I don't know. I end up getting serious downtime at work when I'm waiting for other people to do stuff I need before I can proceed. I figure I can fill that with writing, since writing is What I Do at work, anyway. If these continue, you'll see the link over on the right.

* Rest. No, seriously, it will happen. There's only so much longer I can go without it.

If you have been, clean it out.

Ugh, 1 week of work at a job I've come to despise (everyone but the boss is great actually, but the boss is what makes it suck), and then I go back to school.

I really should've taken the week off, but nope, didn't think of that.

Mmmm, went to visit some friends up in the DC area (ok, like everyone I went to college with essentially).

I discovered Cheesetique (which I understand some members of Luna-C frequent as well). Soo many wonderful cheeses! And not too long ago, on that Shoutbox there to the left, Grant Goodmorrow, a chef on the west coast, recommended cheeses from Rogue Creamery, and the Cheesetique had some of their cheeses. Specifically the Oregon Blue and the Organzola.

Given that on the website it's fairly pricey and you can only order half or full wheels, I was really happy to find a place where I could get smaller amounts, and thus more affordable amounts.

Man, that cheese is GOOD. Incredibly good.

Anyways, I think we're starting to wake up. Gonna try to hit the muppet exhibit in DC proper, possibly meet up with some folks that are visiting/live in the area.

The Mich is happy.
