'Hey, I may be fat, ugly and old, but at least I live in my own basement!' by Kara

... honestly, I don't feel like I can rant about anything after seeing that.

*sigh* this has been a week.

It started out pretty decently, the folks yearly/10 year/random checkups all came back healthy. One or two little blips, but for the most part they're healthy healthy healthy.

Even managed to find them a WiiFit last Sunday as apparently stores received shipment 2.

Alas, I can't say that about my pets. My dogs are old (13!), so their health problems are almost to be expected. My male dog has arthritis and a bladder problem, which is more an annoyance to us than it is to him I think.

My female dog (from the same litter) has had problems with seizures in the past, they seem to have gotten better though. Lately she's been having problems keeping anything down. Barely eats, when she does, the next day she's throwing up all over the house. *sigh*

I've got a guinea pig with a heart murmer, of course he seems to have stabilised so things are looking up there.

And then there's the poor hedgehog I rescued about a year ago. When I rescued her she had a tumor on her mouth. One surgery and a biopsy later we learned the tumor wasn't cancerous, was mostly just a fatty tumor as far as they could tell. Then in Feb, she had another one starting. Opposite side of the mouth this time. Surgery, and all that revealed that it was a bacteria infection. Nothing else was wrong with her at the time we picked her up from the surgery. A few months later she went blind.

Nothing all the serious except a sign that she's fairly old. Hedgehogs have great senses of smell, and generally pretty poor eyesight anyways.

And then I discovered her dead the other night. The vet did a post mortem and discovered that she had bleeding into her stomach due to a tumor on her spleen.

But that wasn't what killed her. It was a tumor on the lateral side of her neck.

The vet says that even if we had discovered it before death, any time before death, we wouldn't have been alble to do anything. Still doesn't make me feel better.

And in other news, I only have one wig left to style. This wig will take quite awhile with all the crimping to do.

And I haven't yet sewn the arm and leg warmers *sigh*

So I'm going to spend the day with more sappy movies and style this wig. With any luck I'll be able to sew these things tonight, but if not, definitely Mon night so I can get them fit on Kara. Busy, busy, busy.

The Mich is busy!
